My goal in life is based around trying to get a slimmer look in my clothing (well not really, but almost). Nothing makes an outfit look more sleek and stylish than the illusion of a tiny waist and beautifully accentuated curves! Over the years, I have followed three tips that I pretty much live by if I am trying to make myself appear thinner.
Tip #1-Wear a Belt
I think we all know about this trick, but the key is to pair the belt with a cardigan or loose fitting top. This will give the illusion of a super tiny waist, which is always a very good thing. Right now I have a deep affection for skinny belts of all colors, but if you are trying to camouflage a tummy, wear a wider belt.
Tip #2 – Body-Flattering Clothing
This does not mean tight. It means finding clothing that hug the outline of your body. Your curves will be highlighted and you will appear slimmer. The bodycon style is very popular and if worn right, this type of clothing can illuminate a very slim appearance. If you have a tummy wear a loose fitting top and accentuate your hips instead.
Tip #3 – Monochrome Style
I am always a lover of an outfit that is one color, but this is also a great way to minimize the size of your waist. Wearing one color always naturally accentuates the curves of your body. I like to wear an outfit with one base color (in my case always black) and add a belt, blazer, or a different color top. Believe me, you will look absolutely amazing.
