Use Me daily. Just so we’re clear, moisturizer is for your hair, not your scalp! After cleansing with Use Me Cleanser, remove excess water from hair (gently squeeze with a towel, please). Apply moisturizer from the ends up, keeping it away from your scalp. Leave in for 1-2 minutes, then rinse with very cold water (it works best this way). Uber dry hair? Use Me again.

My Experience:
I was very excited to use this product for multiple reasons. I am new to the natural hair “game” and have been trying my best to use the most pure products possible: this is the epidemy of pure, vegan. I was immediately impressed by the ability to refill for a salon, which is environmentally friendly. Along with being good to the world, they are good to the universe by giving 1% of their proceeds through a program called 1% for the planet. If I wasn’t impressed by the packaging, initiative, and ingredients I was extremely impressed by the hand-written note I received with the product (kudos)!
I used the cleanser after returning from vacation to the beach, so it was much needed. I tried my darndest to stick to the directions and “only apply to the scalp”, but when rinsing it out of course it ran through my hair. I immediately was a bit thrown off because it left my hair dry and sticky. I continued the cleansing process with a DC with Shea Moisture and then followed up 30 minutes later with the Use Me Moisturizer. I showered again and rinsed it out after 5 minutes. I liked what I felt then. It didn’t leave my hair filmy and I followed my regular regimen of flat twists with SM Curl Enhancing Smoothie and sealing with Coconut Oil.
2 days later….I decided that I would try something different with the moisturizer and use it as a leave-in. Needless to say this was an AMAZING idea!!! I dampened my hair, mixed a dime size amount of the moisturizer with my coconut oil, and set my hair in braids.
Fragrance:
I am one of those girls that uses products that smell appealing and steer away from those that aren’t. Since all of the ingredients in both of the products are “pure” and it smells accordingly. No strong smells here! Just clean and natural.
Results:
With the Vegan label, I don’t know if I was really expecting a great product, but I was surprised. Although the cleanser left my hair sticky, I liked the way my hair felt when using the combination of products. The moisturizer TRULY moisturized and left my hair feeling soft and healthy.
Moisture:
I am one of those people with “thirsty” hair. I have a good mixture of 3b, 3c, 4a, and probably 4b hair even as a transitioner. I definitely liked using the moisturizer as a styling moisturizer in combination with my coconut oil and I’ll definitely continue to use it as a co-wash. As for the cleanser, I wouldn’t use this without using a DC behind it. It left my hair really feeling sticky, which isn’t what I was aiming for. However, I will say my scalp was CLEAN. No dandruff. No beach residue. No product residue. = Good stuff.
Price:
Since this product is made to be used in a salon and refillable, I would say that this is definitely a value. Even with a full head of hair, I used a VERY small amount of the cleanser and moisturizer. It would go a long way in a large house of naturals or in a salon.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I LOVE the moisturizer. My day 5 hair was more moisturized and soft then I could have imagined. Day 1-2 I had flat-twist outs and they were taken down on day 2, my hair was ok. Day 3-4 I wore flat twist outs undone, my hair was good! However, the night of day 4 I did the coconut oil and moisturizer braid out, day 5 hair was AMAZING!!!!!! Very good product, but I’d definitely say you need to find a way to make it work for you, even if it’s different from the labels direction. Good clean product with Good results.
