By Chinyere of Adventures of a High School Curly
Product Name: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque
Price: $9.99
Size: 12 oz
Product Description:
This rich treatment deeply moisturizes and repairs hair, while providing a protective barrier for the hair from heat and styling aids
Ingredients:
de-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter) (denotes certified organic ingredients), Argan oil, vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, sea kelp extract, Panthenol (vitamin B-5), essential oil blend, avocado oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Hyssopus Officinalis Extract, Salvia Officinalis (sage) leaf and Equisetum Arvense Extract, soybean oil and Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil.
I’ve heard that this product was also good enough to use as a leave in conditioner so I decided to use it as a leave in conditioner instead of using it as a deep conditioner. I washed and conditioned my hair as normal and prepped my hair to do a braid-out. I wanted to see if I could achieve bounce, hold and most definetly moisture for more than one day!
Fragrance:
Ok the smell was really hard to pinpoint on what it was. It wasn’t anything where I had to hold my nose and quickly put it on, but then again it was anything where I could eat it cause it smelled so good. I didn’t really care for the smell at all.
Results:
This product is the best! My braid-out which is normally my go-to style looked great, didn’t feel heavy, but a little dull on shine. My hair was fluffy and very very soft.
My hair was very moisturized after using this. My hair is very thick and on the dry side. And to capture all the moisture I applied on damp/dry hair and I didn’t have to apply everyday. I could go 2 days between before I had to moisturize again.
Price:
The price is to die for, especially with me being a high school student on a budget with no job. Also, because all of the Shea Moisture products are ridiculously affordable and the quality of the products are great, I was able to splurge and get more products — the Curl and Shine Shampoo, Curl & Style Milk, Curl Enhancing Smoothie and the Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner — yea I’m surely an addict.
Final Thoughts:
I strongly suggest you buy the whole Shea Moisture product line!! It is soo good! Although there was a lack of shine I can fix that with a little rub of olive oil. This is a really good product and I love it!
