Ingredients: Each product is formulated without the ingredients we naturalistas tend to avoid!

  • No Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Parabens, Silicones, Phthalates, Gluten, Paraffin, Propylene Glycol, PABA or DEA!

My Experience:  Well, if you are like me, I had already been a fan of Cantu, especially their Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, for years.  I was curious when I learned of their Natural Hair line being released.  The products arrived with an ample amount in each container.  I used each product over the course of nearly a month and much of my results were posted along the way through Facebook.  I was amazed at the multi-purpose uses of each product.  It served as my go-to for any hairstyle.

Fragrance:  Cantu has not changed their wonderful, coconut fragrance.  These products have the same great, delicious smell; however, it is not overpowering.  It is just enough to give a pleasant, fresh smell.

Results:  Wow!  Anyone who saw my hair throughout the period that I was trying these products always stopped and asked what I was using in my hair.  The products gave my hair a great amount of shine and defined my curls perfectly.  I came out with great twists or twist outs every time!

Moisture:  These products give such great moisture.  The Creamy Hair Lotion was my favorite of the bunch because you could use it literally on wet or dry hair and it would automatically give you moisture and shine in seconds.  They all gave a great amount of moisture; however, the Coconut Curling Cream did leave residue in my hair after my hair dried.

Price:  The price of these products are amazing.  I always value companies who make a set price for each product and stick to it.  Plus, the amount you receive in each container is fabulous for this price.  I used these products for nearly a month and barely made a dent in them.

Final Thoughts:  If you can’t tell already, I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS!  From the delicious smell to the curl definition, these have easily become my favorite natural hair products.  I was able to create twists, twist outs, puffs… You name it!  My only wish for Cantu would have been for them to make a shampoo and conditioner to go with this line.  So many of the products overlap in their uses that two could easily be swapped for a shampoo and conditioner.  Also, the Coconut Milk Shine & Hold Mist only made my hair frizzy and wild rather than refreshing the hair.  Overall, loving five out of six products in a line is pretty amazing.

Be sure to check your local Walgreens or Walmart for these amazing products!

I just checked on some of their products (cantu grow strong treatment)on amazon and unfortunately they have parabens in it which causes cancer.  Therefore, i would not buy it.

Thank you for checking out the post Rea!  I definitely respect your decision.  The percentage of parabens having an effect on your body are incredibly small.  I try to focus on what makes my hair feel and look its healthiest.  What are some of your favorite paraben-free products?

Just got this in the August Curlbox and LOVE it!!!!!! The Coconut Curling Cream is AMAZING!!! I am going to look for the conditioner or deep conditioner since the moisture I get from the cream was so good…and what a value!!!

I bought the Cantu Activator cream and the Cantu Hair Lotion and they both are great products, finally good products for non-gel wearers like me. Yay!!

FabEllis, in what order did you use the products to do your twist outs? I like the leave in and was considering the curling cream or the lotion to set and moisturize my twist outs during the week with shine and without frizz. Did you feel product buildup after a while? Thanks!

Hey Leslie. In the top picture, I used the Cantu Hair Lotion as a leave-in and then the Twist and Lock gel for the twist out. In the bottom picture, I used the Cantu Hair Lotion as the leave-in and then the Curling Cream. I did not have build up at all with either. I did have a few flakes when I used the Curling Cream but I think I quite frankly used too much. Lol! The Hair Lotion was great to moisturize my puffs and twist outs. Hope this helps and Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Thank you so much for the reply-I use the leave in in the jar and I want to pick the right product to use that will work with the thickness of the leave in but still moisturize. Does the twist and lock gel moisturize? Did you have to apply any lotion during the week with either style? BTW are those curls from your twist out or another method? Those are AWESOME! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

Thanks! The curls in the first and bottom picture are both from twist outs. The gel was not very moisturizing; however, it wasn’t as dry as most gels. I did apply the hair lotion during the week and it was no problem, but I used a very light amount. Honestly, the leave in in the jar is a little too thick for me to use with any style. I use it as a deep conditioner only. Hope that helps! :)

I received the lotion in my curlkit, and i used it the night before last. It worked amazingly, no residue left, goes on really smooth, smells wonderful, and its not greasy at all!! I bought the coconut curling cream last night and the masque because Melshary raved and raved about it. I needed to know what it’s like will be using the masque this weekend and the coconut curling cream. The price I paid for my products was $8.29 at my beauty Supply in Brooklyn, NY.
