No More Wigs for Nikki Minaj?

Yesterday news posted that the excitable diva of a rapper Nicki Minaj has recently fired her “wig specialist” Terrence Davidson. But according to this statement made by the stylist in 2013, he claims he decided to “step away as hairstylist and wig creator for Nicki Minaj.” And now, he is suing her for $30 million.

Why, though?

According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj prevented the hairstylist from pursuing a career in reality TV, and now she says he’s bitter about it. Um, extremely bitter, huh? Or possibly positioning himself for his next big business venture (re-read first half of this sentence). Nicki (whose real name is Onika Maraj) states that “his self-described talents are insufficient to garner the same types of business opportunities he may have received when serving as Mrs. Maraj’s hairstylist.”

Don’t think for a second the rapper/actress isn’t batting an eye.

She says Terrence lost his “most famous client.” Lately on her social media accounts, Nicki has attempted to recreate her image by taming down the ultra-vibrant wigs, fashion, and accessories. She has been posting a lot more #NoFilter selfies and a lot less #WigginOut costume get-ups. For the most part her images have been free of harsh make-up, crazily-colored hair, and unflattering facial expressions.

Is Mr. Davidson attempting to regain his 15 minutes of fame back by suing his former multi-million dollar client? Is he biting the hand that fed him? Do we love Onika’s new look, or do we miss the old Miss Minaj? Natural hair community, what do you think?

Weigh in on the conversation below.

I love her hair either way, natural or protective stying. The wigs were part of her stage personality what ever she likes, as long as she’s happy with it.

I’m loving her more tamed look. Eventually, I figured she would grow out of the outlandish hairstyles.

I love the natural Nikki. I became a fan because of the fact that she had been showing her natural beauty!

In my OPINION, she has toned it down a little too much. & I love that she’s wearing her own hair but I think she needs to stop pressing it because it looks thin.
