Keep it Together: Shapewear for a Slimmer Look

We have already discussed some tips for a slimmer look and if you missed that article, you can read it HERE. Today, we are going to talk about shapewear. I think it’s fair to say that the average woman would like people to believe that she has no noticeable bulges (or maybe I’m alone on an island with this one?) Besides wearing flattering clothes (which we should ALL be doing), shapewear keeps everything in place for a more streamline look.

Now, to be honest, I do not wear shapewear everyday, but if I’m going to a formal or fancy event, I want to look flawless. This is not to say that you can’t wear wear shapewear every day! If you are the kind of woman to wear body icon skirts, or clothing made from more stretchy material such as spandex, you may want to wear shapewear for added support.  Also, I would like to dispel the myth that shapewear is only for larger, plus sized women. Anyone can wear shapewear for added support and confidence when wearing more fitted clothing.

Here are some options for shapewear:

Tummy Control

Maybe your only “problem” area is your stomach. Opt for shapewear that cinches you in at the waist and keeps that area looking smooth.

No More Thunder Thighs

Thigh slimmers are a great way to slim your thighs, flatten your stomach, and tighten your butt “at the same damn time.”

Fully Body

Look your best… everywhere. This is the kind of shaper you want for all-around smoothness.

So, tell us,  do you wear shapewear?

I use Squeem! After having 3 babies in 3.5 years (on purpose…sort of…Gods timing rules) I have diastisis recto, which usually makes you look like you are 4 months pregnant all the time. With Squeem, seriously I look like (or at least THiNk) I have done ab work every day of my life. I love it. But they are rubber and heavy duty and when I first tried them I felt like my eyes were going to pop out. But it also helped my diastisis repair excersises. Awesome.
