    1. I juiced 4 times last week. I’m noticing continued improvements in my digestion.

    2. I met my movement goals and I’m felt less sluggish.

    3. I am definitely good enough and deserve to treat myself well.

    • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

I agree with you about feeling less sluggish and energized. I got that Wonder Woman mentality lol. Like I can do anything I want in the day. It is an awesome benefit that comes with exercising. Have a great week! :)

  • Lovey

-I juiced 5 times last week. I can’t say that I’ve noticed changes in my mind, body, skin, health, energy, but I have noticed positive changes in my digestive system. I have a fancy smancy GE blender that I bought at WalMart for about $40. It works well enough. My favorite green smoothies include a banana, and because of the flax seed are consumed within 30 minutes.
-I exceeded my movement goals by working out 6 days last week (at least 1 hour), and feel inspired to continue because I see and feel positive effects.
-I’m better than good enough because I am my heavenly Father’s child, and therefore deserve no less than His best.

    • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

I too have been seeing positive changes in my digestive system especially with the spinach, broccoli, kale, and celery I put in smoothies sometimes. It kind of back fired too when I ate some sardines in hot sauce at my friend’s house. That hot sauce didn’t agree with my stomach on Sun. That’s a feeling I hadn’t encountered since juicing. I know I had overdone it with the hot sauce! I like sardines with out it, but that was the only kind she had, and I was really hungry lol. Lesson learned. But yeah, juicing has made me MOVE better in that department lol! Have a wonderful day!

    • yardie_chick

Congrats on reaching and exceeding your goal!!! Wish I could say the same!

  • http://www.facebook.com/green.cindyf Cindy Green Ferguson

I juiced 4 days last week instead of the 6 I would have liked to. My blender couldn’t handle the daily smoothies. It started smoking and died. I replaced it with a Black and Decker blender I found on clearance at Walmart for $12.
I didnt meet my movement goals last week thanks to mother nature torturing my body. My goal is 6 days a week and I was only able to get in 3 days. I feel I have more energy and think its a combination of the juicing and regular workouts. The photo tells me that I am worth the time, energy, efforts, and money I put into getting healthy. That I’m good enough to get it done.

  • Tennisshoes

Hi everybody! The time is just flyyyyying by!
    1. I made smoothies five times in week 2. I haven’t noticed changes in my mind, skin or energy, but I am A LOT more regular than I used to be (TMI? LOL).
Blender: I didn’t want a regular sized blender so I thought about the magic bullet, but started out with Elite Cuisine 300-Watt personal blender. Epic fail. It died in the middle of my seventh use. :-( . Now I’m using the Hamiliton Beach personal blender. Lower wattage, but it’s working out pretty well so far.
    2. My movement goals. Sigh. It was a TOUGH week! But I got in two days. Over an hour of walking one day and 45 mins of Gold’s Gym Dance workout for the Wii another day (LOVE THAT! The canoeing is KILLER).
    3. Am I good enough? Indeed I am and it’s great that I know it!
I’m really enjoying this morning’s smoothie: Spinach and mustard greens, flaxseed, banana, peach, raspberries, water and coconut almond milk.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Shakira-Nicole/659012123 Shakira Nicole

girl I have always been regular but juicing has taken it to an entirely new level lol. I mean it’s like clockwork now

      • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

        lol too funny^

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Shakira-Nicole/659012123 Shakira Nicole

I can’t believe we’re in Week 3 already!!! Last week wasn’t so good for unfortunately.

    1. I juiced 3 times last week. The only change I’ve noticed is in my skin. Aside from the juicing I’ve drastically cut back on sodas and have been drinking lots more water.

    2. My movement was a complete FAIL last week (well at least in my mind). I went to Zumba as always on Tuesday and I walked for about 20-30 minutes almost every day during my lunch time BUT I did not go to the gym on Thursday and Saturday as I originally planned to do.

    3. Am I good enough….hmmmmmmmmmm. Funny that this is the motivational question/affirmation for the week. This is something I’ve been contemplating more and more lately. Not only am I good enough, but am I deserving. Slowly but surely I am coming to the realization that I AM good enough and I DO deserve to have/receive all that I want, choose and say. It’s a long rocky road at times but it’s getting better every day.

    • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

Shakira you have the same name as one of my elementary friends lol. She has an “e” inplace of the “i”! I agree with you 100% that knowing that we are good enough goes hand in hand with recognizing that we deserve the best that life has to offer, the best that God wishes to give us when we truly believe we as deserving children of His. I’m ready to acknowledge and accept my blessings! Who’s with me?! Have a great day girl!

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Shakira-Nicole/659012123 Shakira Nicole

I definitely want and deserve the best life has to offer!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

Time is flying. I believe that means great things are fast coming in my life lol! Everyone should give themselves a pat on the back, or hug, just love on yourselves because you are doing it! Yay!

    1. I juiced 5 day last week. What I have noticed is that I recognize in myself when I’m truly hungry and when I’m just wanting to eat to stay awake or past the time. I am emotional eater too, but becoming better. Not going to allow emotions to control anything in my life anymore. But lately I’ve stopped myself from eating when I’m “bored”. In these times, I clean up, read, pray, write, go outside and sit…just try to occupy myself. Also when I’m hungry and but don’t really know what I want in a snack I go for juicing. I use Montel’s Health Master Blender. I like it so far. It makes soup too, but I haven’t tried to do that yet. Good blender.
2nd Fav recipe: (tasty and simple)spinachstrawberriesgrapesa little bit of apple juiceice

    2. I try to move 6 days a week. This week I did 5 days out of the week. I prefer exercising in the morning (love my power walking), but my sister gets off in the afternoon and I’m trying to workout with her to keep her motivated. It gets late and I start to get sleepy at 7pm. I managed to get 5 days in though and I’m thankful for that! Since I’ve started not to eat after 9pm. I feel a whole lot better, and don’t feel bloated when I go to sleep unless I’m drinking alot of water or a smoothie before 9pm. If I get hungry my sister and I have agreed to only eating raw veggies, and fruits, or smoothie. Nothing heavy. I think exercising plays apart in me waking up earlier now even though I’ve always been an early bird, now just a more energetic early bird!

    3. Wow, yes, I’m recognizing this in myself more and more each day! I wrote and read a poem once maybe 2 months ago. The first line reads, “If I keep thinking that I’m not
as good as someone else, I will never be good enough for myself,” (Lol I had to
go to my room and find the journal it was in). We all have to remind ourselves
that we are worthy to be here, we have purpose, and God doesn’t create any
mistakes! I, you, we, ARE GOOD ENOUGH!

    1. JUICE – How many days did you juice last week (week 2)? Have you noticed any changes in your mind, body, skin, health, energy since you began juicing 3 weeks ago?
I had two green smoothies last week. I didn’t have the time to make them like I wanted to. But I did up my green intake via salads. I had two as well. :)
    2. MOVE – Did you meet your movement goals last week (week 2)? Do you feel a change in your energy or body since you started moving? What is your favorite activity?
I met my running goals last week. I ran 4 days. I had a great long run (7 miles) on Saturday. I’m training for my 3rd half marathon. I defnitely feel a change in my body since consistently working out. If I miss my workout (other than truly being sick) my body feels horrible. My favorite activity is running.
    3. AFFIRM – Reflect on this picture, Are you good enough?…..YES…..YES…. and YES!!! Believe in yourself!

    • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

I agree about missing a workout or having a day of rest. I feel like I want to exercise more, like I know I can go further, but I don’t want to strain my body either. I feel like I’m cheating my body when I sit out on a workout. On the other hand, I’m glad that my mindset is I can walk, jog, do a video, cardio, etc. instead of watching another hour of TV, or eat baked fish, instead of pizza, or make a delicious filling smoothie instead of eating cake. Exercising consistently really does a great thing for the mind, body, and soul! I’m not giving it up! I’m feeling better each day about it. :)

  • Positive change

I juiced 5days last week and I noticed change in my overall health. I see positive changes can not wait until the end the challenge to see how far I have come. I have the Biggest Loser Double-Up Chooper & Blender System by Taylor I cost about $20 @ ROSS. I really like it gets the job done with problems. My favorite recipe is baked chicken breast, bakes seasonal potatoes and mixed veggies. I met my movement goal(Zumba and kickboxing) it was hurt but I stuck with it proud of myself. I have more endurance when working out sometimes I want to gave up but somewhere that extra boost of energy kick in. My favorite activity is kickboxing.
I am more than enough because, my heavenly Father Jesus Christ said so.

    . JUICE -
How many days did you juice last week (week 2)? Have you noticed any
changes in your mind, body, skin, health, energy since you began juicing
    3 weeks ago?

I juiced 3 times last week. It really gave me more energy and clarity! I was able to focus on my reading assignments for school! I’m going to juice today for lunch since I am going to a BBQ!
My juicer is a Omega VERT 330. It’s a little more than $300. It also has a 10 year full coverage warranty! If you want to make mostly green juices (especially with green leafy veggies) don’t get this one. I’m personally interested in juicing fruits and veggies but not green leafy veggies (since I enjoy eating them).
And I love my juicer! It’s relatively easy to clean. It’s an auger juicer so you retain a lot of the nutrients. And the juice doesn’t expire for 3 days! So there’s no need to juice every single day and drink it immediately. I like to put my juices in the fridge so it gets cold! The only thing I don’t like about my juicer is the amount of pulp it gives off. I hate pulp though so this may not be a gripe for others.

    2. MOVE -
Did you meet your movement goals last week (week 2)? Do you feel a
change in your energy or body since you started moving? What is your
    favorite activity?

I exercised formally 3 times last week and did a little more walking than normal for 2 or 3 days. I’ve already lost 1.8 pounds since I started juicing and moving more (1 weeks time). Lol

    3. AFFIRM – Reflect on this picture, Are you good enough?
I trying to think of myself as good enough but I keep expecting more from myself. I also compare myself to others a lot… which is bad… And sometimes I don’t think I’m good enough based on my comparisons. But others’ opinions should be irrelevant. In my grad program there’s a lot of self reflection. I’m slowly identifying the negativity in my thought process. With this insight, sooner or later I know I’ll be able to say I am good enough!

  • yardie_chick

I juiced 4 times last week. I have noticed that my tastebuds have warmed up nicely to the flavors of my smoothies i was excited and enjoyed making them. My energy is pretty much the same. Working all hours of the day/week still burns me out but when I drink the smoothies I feel great that I am feeding my body nutrients instead of junk. I am using a KRUPS blender that I received as a bridal/wedding gift when I signed up for Macy’s Bridal Registry! It works awesome and I love that it has a ice crusher which works well on my frozen fruits and veggies.(One of the best things that came from the marriage #NoLie #LongStory # LOL). I have dedicated myself to power walking the 8 floors of my jobsite 3 nights per week and eliminating elevators when I am doing my rounds. I feel awesome when I complete the rounds! I still wish that I could have more time to take a zumba or cycling class but I am praying this happens soon. I AM GOOD ENOUGH! I have come to learn this and many other truths about the woman I am and what I deserve.

  • yardie_chick

Hello Ladies, does anyone know if this get healthy challenge will start up again next month? I hope it flows for the rest of the year at least. YES!!! Each month til New Years!

  • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

Ok I have a question. Do I have to be sore the next day after a workout to know if my body is I guess, getting the most benefit? I do sweat when I do weights, and powerwalk/jog. But do I need to be sore? Is it that my body is getting use to exercising so the soreness doesn’t come like it would if I was first starting? All responses appreciated and welcomed! Enjoy your weekend ladies! :)

    • http://kinkycurlycoilyme.com/ Jenell : BlakIzBeautyful

My trainer would say “no”, but I like to feel soar. Makes me feel like I’m working out. However on the weeks when I’m not soar, I lose the most weight.

      • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

That’s interesting. I guess I’ll just keep moving with or without soreness lol. I too feel like I’ve done my job if I’m aching in the morning, but I guess I’m doing right either way. Thanks for the info.

I know I’m squeeking in at the last minute, but a fractured ankle and a computer in the shop will do that to you. Never the less, I made it for the check in!

    1. JUICE – How many days did you juice last week (week 2)? Have you noticed any changes in your mind, body, skin, health, energy since you began juicing 3 weeks ago?

I juiced everyday last week. My skin glows and my energy level is higher. I feeel more positive about myself. I use a Ninja and my favorite recipe so far is the following:
1/2 banana, 1/2 granny smith apple, handful of kale, 1 Tbsp. flaxseeds, 1/4 inch piece of ginger, 3 sprigs of parsley, 1 tsp. agave, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 pineapple ring. Add water to thin it out if necessary.

    2. MOVE – Did you meet your movement goals last week (week 2)? Do you feel a change in your energy or body since you started moving? What is your favorite activity?
Now that I am on bedrest, I use the medicine ball to work my arms and I do my ab workouts.
Before the fractured ankle, I would do yoga, walk 1 hour a day, pilates, and kickbox.

    3. Of course I am good enough. I am better than good, I deserve the best life has to offer.

    • http://kinkycurlycoilyme.com/ Jenell : BlakIzBeautyful

Oh no, I’m sorry about the ankle. But soooo proud to hear that youre still moving!! GO YOU!

    • yardie_chick

Hope you heal soon!!! Respect to you for working out despite bedrest!

  • Tanya W

Last week I juiced all 7 days. I am getting so many compliments on my skin. Also, I have a lot more energy in the am.
I had a back injury that took me out for several days. I was still able to get in the gym 2 days though.
I am good enough and deserve all the good things that are to come by way. I am strong and able to conquer!!!!!

    • Yardie_chick

Much Respect to you for heading to the gym despite a back injury!!!

    • http://twitter.com/Afro_Geisha Danielle

I feel you on the injury, but you are a soldier for going to the gym.God bless you on a speedy recovery!!

    1. I juiced four days last week, and loved every single smoothie I made (except the one I put peanut butter in…YUCK, lol) I was so proud of myself! I use a simple 8 speed Oster blender. It’s okay, but if I continue to do this “smoothie thing,” I’ll definitely need to upgrade. I think that’s why my smoothies aren’t as bright green because the spinach isn’t being broken down as good with this cheapie blender, lol. The best smoothie I’ve made HANDS DOWN was: 1 white peach, 8 strawberries, frozen mango chunks, 1 tbsp applesauce (no sugar added), handful of baby spinach and 1/2 cup of milk. Recently, I’ve been adding 2 Tbsp of whole flax seeds to aid with fiber and help maintain healthy cholesterol…it’s D-Lic-OUS! lol 2. Yes, I worked out 3 times this week! Kickboxing, Bellydancing and 30 minutes on the treadmill. 3. Yes! I am good enough. I only want to be a better me!

  • http://www.facebook.com/anthonia.anyanwu.9 Anthonia Anyanwu

It’s the last week of the month ladies, let’s get it in on these workouts! Go as hard as you can or go home! I’m giving it my all this week along with my sister! I know you can too! Power up! Have a great week people! :)

  • http://twitter.com/Afro_Geisha Danielle

I have revamped my green smoothie today and this time I made a double portion. However, the new add ins have turned it dark purple, instead of green. My new recipe is as follows:

    2 c. kale
    6 sprigs parsley
    1 granny apple
    1 c. blueberries
    4 strawberries
    1 banana
    2 tsp.agave nectar
    2 tsp. flaxseeds
    2 pineapple rings
    cinnamon to taste
    1/2 piece of ginger

I’m going to freeze half of it and tomorrow I will add a little water and re-blend so I can enjoy the slushiness all over again. After I drink this, its time to work the abs, back, and arms. I can’t wait to get off bed rest so I can run on the new trails I found. Is everyone else doing well on this challenge so far? Good luck babydolls!

  • Tennisshoes

Coming back from vacation has me ALL thrown off! Wow…we’re in week 4!!! Does it feel like it’s been four weeks? Not at all. Last week, I made smoothies Monday thru Thursday. Left for vacation Friday, so no smoothies for me until this past Wednesday. Of course coming back from vacation, my fridge was on “E” so I worked with what I had and LOVED it (actually drinking more of the same today). Spinach, green apple, flax seed, water and coconut almond milk. Got in some walking before vacation and even some during. Our hostess took us on a serious journey on beach AND land to get to some fish…only to discover the market was CLOSED! LOL. But lucky for us a man was there to sell us a 7 LB red snapper caught earlier in the day. So the journey wasn’t for nothin’! LOL
