I have to keep it real right?
Let me explain…
When I BCd (3/26/10) it was 4 months before my wedding. I was just getting used to my non curly TWA and I felt like I needed to wear a long weave on my wedding day because my TWA wasn’t appropriate.
As time went on and I fell more and more in love with my natural hair, I decided that my natural hair was perfectly appropriate and I was going to rock a twist out. As you can see from my wedding photo I didn’t end up rocking a twist out, but I have a very valid reason.

The only reason why I didn’t rock a twist out on my wedding day was because my cousin, who is also natural, reminded me that after my wedding I would be goin on my honeymoon and did I really want to be tied down to my hair every day and night?
Nope! So I went with a braided updo instead which is a protective style and it looks gorgeous on me!
Now, I’m not hating on the weaves at all because anyone that knew me before going natural knows that I LOVE 18″ Indian Remy Hair! LOL, but I’m sharing this with you all because I know that from time to time newly naturals and even veteran naturals may feel that their hair isn’t appropriate for a formal event or for something like a job interview. You have to believe in your hair and believe in yourself. If you wear it appropriately and with confidence your natural hair is absolutely appropriate.
