Curly Hair Tip: Take Care of Your Ends when Wearing Twists

6 months natural, Two Strand Twists!

CoilyBella writes…
Two Strand Twists are popularly worn by many naturals and they do protect the hair to an extent. However, if the ends are not taken care of, the result could be unnecessary breakage.

Before I lay down and put my silk sleeping cap on (and during the day when I am resting at home), I stretch my twists either by using goody bobby pins or flat-twisting them. The ends tend not to knot up when I do this. Stretching really keeps knots at bay. Knots can easily result into unnecessary breakage.

Your twists look so perfect and moisturized! I use oil, then Shea Moisture curling souffle when I do mine but they’re never that shiny.

Don’t worry. It’s the flash and the hair always looks shinier on the other side. Lol

Hi, how did you maintain them at night once you untwisted them? I want to make mine last for atleast a week.

Try mini pineapples for short hair or one large pineapple for longer hair. The longer you leave your twists in, the longer your definition will last when you take them out.
