If you didn’t join the challenge in the beginning I’m sorry, it’s too late. You will be able to register for the Fall Challenge in Aug.
5 more weeks to go!
Time flies when you are having fun and we are definitely having fun, right??
I’m so proud of all your hard work and I know your hair is even happier. Now is the time to really focus on your castor oil applications. Reevaluate your regimen and make sure you are doing all you can!
Castor oil is great at preventing frizz, but even castor oil has a breaking point. Sometimes there is so much moisture in the air that there is nothing you can do to prevent your twist out from poofing up into a big afro. As we move further into Spring the humidity is going to get worse! If you live on the West Coast or down South you may be fighting with humidity already. Oh the joys of natural hair. When I first went natural I tried to fight against humidity with gel and various styling products that promised to beat humidity. After year 2 I think I stopped trying. I now just accept it or i wear my hair in a protective style. There is nothing worse then spending 20-60 minutes prepping your twist out or braid out and then 5 minutes after you walk outside your hair frizzes up and you look like Don King! UGH!!!
Here are a few styles you can try when it’s humid.
Check In Questions:
1. How long did it take you to finally make the decision to become natural? When you became fully natural were you surprised at all by your texture? Why/why not?
2. How do you feel about HUMIDITY? Does it effect your hair in any way? If so, how so?
3. How did you do last week (week 7)? Did you follow through with your goals? Any challenges thus far?
4. (optional) Post a pic of your hair after being effected by humidity. OR Post a pic of how you wear your hair to prevent it from being effected by humidity.
Do you Tweet? Are you on Instagram? If so use hashtag #kccmCastorOil so we all can follow the convo and check out your pics.
