I have been watching and reading your reviews and post for the last couple of months now, because I have been going through my natrual process for right at a year now. Its been rough and almost discouraging because I have dry, damage, and moisture issuses. Mainly, because of my sow-in’s I worn to transition my hair, and the inability to devote time to my hair because im a full-time nursing student. But I really love your hair and your advice on healthy natural hair and would love to be apart of castor oil Challenge.

1. I will be using the regular JBCO and the Home Health Cold Pressed Castor Oil.
2. My hair is right below my nose in the front, about an inch below my earlobes on the sides          and touching my shoulders in the back.
3. I will rub JBCO on my edges 7x a week and I will oil my scalp and seal with the cold pressed castor oil 4x a week. I don’t have a set washing schedule. I just kinda let my hair tell me when it needs to be washed but I will use the castor oil to seal whenever I do wash.

Hi! I have been on my recruiting status! I have a few friends and family members who want to join- so far I have about 3 other people who will be joining us I have a quick question, and I apologize if it’s kinda dumb, but are we to use just pure castor oil, or can we use it with other oils (peppermint, olive, etc)?

2) About an inch all over.
3) I’ll be using the JBCO as a sealant, on my scalp while paying close attention to my edges for scalp massages and hot oil oil treatments. That equals up to about 4 or 5 times a week.

Type of castor oil – Cold pressed and when that runs out I plan to buy JCBO.
Current hair length – Front, near bottom lip. Sides, just past collarbone. Back, about an inch past collarbone (see pics).

I’ll be using cold pressed castor oil, my hair length is slightly past the middle of my forehead, slightly past my ear, and less then half way down my neck in the back.  I’ll be using the castor oil on my scalp, and I’ll put it on my slightly damp hair and sleeping with that overnight.

I will be using Jamaican Black Castor Oil. The front of my hair now is nose length, sides are chin length and my back is shoulder length. I will be using the Jamaican Castor Oil 3 times a week.

1. What type of Castor Oil will you be using? I have been using Tropical Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil, which I picked up from 125th street in NYC. I will be thinning it out with coconut oil when used to oil my scalp. I will be using it full strength during other times in my routine.

2. How long is your hair now-front, sides, and back? My hair length is all over the place! While I have been natural for 6+ years, bad weaving techniques left me with thinning, heat damaged strands at weird spots throughout. My curl pattern also greatly varies throughout. I think there may be some permanent damage in some areas. Since August of 2011, I have tried to be a healthy natural. I have managed to cut out all of the heat damaged hair but I struggle with uneven areas and major shrinkage.
Here are my lengths when measured this past month:
Front 4.5″
Back 5″
Sides: 3.5″ – 4.5″
Middle: 3.5″ (Major area of damage)
 
There will be no more dusting for me! Now I will focus on sticking with my moisture and pamper routine (Thanks Jenell!), while trying to find an inexpensive, effective curl defining cream.
I am going to treat myself to a professional cut and style to celebrate a year of healthy, happy natural curls in August. I am leaning towards Hair Rules salon.

For the past month or so, I have used Castor Oil as the main oil in my routine. I use it nightly on my edges and eyebrows (it works!) I also mix it with coconut and olive oil for overnight pre-poo treatments twice a week. I also will use it lightly throughout the week during scalp massages.

Now Solutions 100% pure castor oil.  It says it’s good for skin and hair.

The front is about 9 inches.  It stops just under my chin.  The back and sides are about 10 inches.

 I’ll still use it to seal after moisturizing, but I want to try something different this time. In addition, this time I think I’ll aim for a Castor Oil hot oil treatment every other week.  That might be too much for my hair, but I’ll see how it works and then adjust if needed.  I’m also going to head over to the health food store and buy some essential oils.  I want to make this stuff smell good without mixing it with other oils so much.

Hello. I’d like to join this challenge. I’ll be using Zion Pure Filtered Castor Oil. In the front my hair is nose length, neck length on the sides, and shoulder length in the back. I plan on using the oil on my scalp, the edges, and for sealing, or as the “O” in the loc method. I may give it a try as a hot oil treatment too.

1) I will be using JBCO and maybe the pharmacy brand if I run out.
2) My hair length in the front and middle is nose length and the back and sides are chin length.

(I will be using both cold pressed Castor oil and Jamaican black castor oil

My front is to my eye my sides are just about to my chin and the back is down my neck

I do have a question. Can I still particapate if I braid my hair for the summer ? I want to have my hair done while on vaca and I was think of getting kinky twist but I don’t want to miss my check ins

I’m going to try this again.  I’ll be using Zion Jamaica Filtered Pure Castor Oil.  The front of my hair is nose length, the sides are neck length, and the rear is shoulder length.  The crown is very coarse  and brittle.  I have a lot of gray hair in the front too, which I’m finding out is very brittle and has broken off.  I’ll be doing just about everything with the castor oil:  as the O in the loc method, edges, pre-pooing and on my scalp, hot oil treatments.  Right now all I’m looking for is healthy hair.

1. Palma Christi hexane-free, cold-pressed, Castor oil is what I will use for the challenge.
2. Front, eye-brow; sides, to ear lobes; back, to nape of neck; crown, index-finger length.
3. Using on my edges 3-5x weekly, on scalp 2-3x weekly, hot oil treatment once weekly.
will also use on my eyebrows 2-3x weekly (they are sparse).

First off let me say that I am SUPER EXCITED you extended the deadline! I was fussing with AT&T to get my internet ready before the 1st so I could join Clearly, it didn’t happen!
1. I will be using Home Health Castor Oil that I got from Whole Foods. 
2. My hair is in the front is chin length. Sides little past shoulders. Back is a little past shoulders.
3. I will be using the castor oil to do EVERYTHING, at least 3 times a week.

1. I will be using the “Sunny Isle Extra Dark Jamaican Black Castor Oil.

2. My hair is close shave its low that it cant even be considered a twa, lol. So my hair you can
    say is even all around in length.

3. Well I will be using the product daily to basically moisturize my scalp and to also do a hot oil
    treatment once a week or bi-weekly.
