Big Chop Reactions

My Big Chop

When I first cut all my hair off I created an album and started posting the pics online.  It seemed like everyone just loved the new look.  A few friends came to me in confidence, after viewing my album, and shared with me that they’ve been contemplating chopping off all their hair and going natural as well.  A few weeks later and 3 friends came forth and told me they are joining me on my journey.

My mother saw me and fell in love with it.  She later decided to cut all her hair off as well and go natural with me.

When my fiance saw me he said I looked great.  “Beautiful is beautiful anyway you wear it” See why I’m marrying him?

My father said I looked like a boy and one of my brothers said he didn’t like it at all.  Why is that my problem?

It seems like other natural women have an instant connection with me and we end up exchanging info and becoming friends.

More men hit on me then before now too. LOL

Please share your Big Chop natural hair reactions, what were the responses of those around you to your new do?

Hi Jenell, I just BC again!! I just went to the barber and had it all taken off. No TWA!! A baldie! I just love rubbing my hand through my head! I had the most amazing afro 7yrs ago. I think if I had better knowledge of my hair, I would be stepping on my hair or getting it stuck in the train doors today. I’m glad I’ve found your website and hope to learn a lot.
